Welcome

I am a Toronto based landscape painter.   I paint nature wherever I find it en-plein-air during the summer months.

the next 50 years show

As a landscape painter I am very invested in our gorgeous country.  That is why the thought that “The next 50 years will determine the fate of all life on this planet” as attested by Sir David Attenborough is very frightening to me, especially since the quote comes from 1984.  I spend my summers next to streams and lakes painting En Plein Air and the winters in my studio converting those studies to full scale paintings. I am fascinated with dynamic skies and beautiful water reflections. As Canadians, our identity is tied deeply to the land.  These paintings are a celebration of colour and place, but also a quiet alarm. The land - like the animals who live within it- has never been able to shield itself from us.  Its still generous, still breathtaking, and still at risk.
